The Women’s South Carolina Golf Association will host the Inaugural South Carolina Women’s Open Championship presented by Seabrook Island Club and Real Estate. The Event will be played on The Seabrook Island Club’s Ocean Winds Course August 10-12.
The tournament will consist of a 54-hole championship that is open to professional and amateur contestants. Senior professional and senior amateur division players will compete in a 36-Hole event.
The Professional Division purse is guaranteed at $10,000.
The LPGA Symetra Tour will present the 2018 Champion of the SC Women’s Open with a Sponsor’s Exemption into a 2019 LPGA Symetra Tour event being held in the Carolina’s.
“There has been an overwhelming buzz of excitement surrounding the announcement of our 1st Annual SC Open Championship.” said WSCGA Executive Director Clarissa Childs.
“We are fortunate and very grateful to Seabrook Island Club and their community for hosting our players at such an exquisite venue!”
Co tournament director, Kristi Coggins added, “Our hope is that we can make Seabrook Island Club the forever home of this very prestigious tournament where top ranked local, state and national players can gather each year to compete for the title of the South Carolina Women’s Open Champion.”
In addition, the WSCGA will host a Sponsor Play-day and meet and greet with many of the contestants. Spectators for the tournament will be treated to FREE admission to the grounds and will be able to watch some of the finest competitive golf in the Country.
The event has several corporate sponsorship opportunities still available. Also, there are a few remaining openings for volunteers and player housing hosts.
