Students at the Nativity School in Charleston recently took on extra chores at home and used their allowances to donate coins and bills for the school’s week-long penny wars fundraiser during National Catholic Schools Week.
In just five days, they raised more than $1,200, and, on Feb. 12, presented checks of $600 each to the MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital and the local Ronald McDonald House.
