West Beach Notice
East West Partners is beginning to site prep and stage for their Parcel 13 Multifamily Development. At the time of the conditional approval for the Duneside Road and Southern Pines Lane connection, it was determined that the barricaded terminus would be relocated further west along Southern Pines Lane to prevent thru traffic from Beachwalker Drive to Duneside Road. If you have questions, please contact Planning Director John Taylor, Jr. at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Parkway Landscaping Installation & Bike Path Notice
For the next two weeks, contractors will be present along the Kiawah Island Parkway between the main gate and the roundabout installing new landscaping as a part of the Kiawah Island Parkway Improvement Project. Residents should use caution on the roadway. The bike path from the main gate to Freshfields will remain open, but cyclists may experience intermittent delays.
Beach Leash Ordinance Seasonal Change
As a reminder, from March 16 – October 31, dogs must be on a leash at all times on the beach from the western Critical Habitat Area (near Beachwalker County Park) to the eastern boundary of the Beach Club. Electronic leashes are prohibited. View the pet restraint map here.
Dogs are never allowed in the dunes, and owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets. Leash ordinances are enforced by Beach Patrol and Code Enforcement officers who are authorized to ticket offenders resulting in fines up to $465. Report non-compliance to Beach Patrol (843-518-2880).
