Solid Waste Service Change

Monday, May 17 through Friday, May 21 – All residential and regime solid waste collection will take place in the evenings, beginning at 7 p.m. Trash and recycling cans must be placed curbside to ensure collection. There will be no backdoor service or yard debris collection this week.

Commercial Access

To limit commercial traffic throughout the island during the PGA Championship on May 17-23, only essential commercial work and service providers will be permitted. Foodservice and fuel deliveries, home health care, house cleaning, pool maintenance, trash and delivery (UPS, FedEx, Amazon, US Postal) services will be authorized to access the island. Regular construction work, landscaping, routine repair work, non-essential deliveries, and household movers will not be permitted.

South Carolinians Aged 16 and Older Can Schedule COVID-19 Vaccine Appointments Beginning March 31

On Friday, Gov. Henry McMaster and the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) announced that beginning Wednesday, March 31, any South Carolina resident aged 16 or older can begin scheduling their appointment to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. West Beach Notice

East West Partners is beginning to site prep and stage for their Parcel 13 Multifamily Development. At the time of the conditional approval for the Duneside Road and Southern Pines Lane connection, it was determined that the barricaded terminus would be relocated further west along Southern Pines Lane to prevent thru traffic from Beachwalker Drive to Duneside Road. Parkway Landscaping Installation & Bike Path Notice

For the next two weeks, contractors will be present along the Kiawah Island Parkway between the main gate and the roundabout installing new landscaping as a part of the Kiawah Island Parkway Improvement Project. Residents should use caution on the roadway. The bike path from the main gate to Freshfields will remain open, but cyclists may experience intermittent delays.

Beach Leash Ordinance Seasonal Change

As a reminder, from March 16 – October 31, dogs must be on a leash at all times on the beach from the western Critical Habitat Area (near Beachwalker County Park) to the eastern boundary of the Beach Club. Electronic leashes are prohibited. View the pet restraint map here.

Dogs are never allowed in the dunes, and owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets. Leash ordinances are enforced by Beach Patrol and Code Enforcement officers who are authorized to ticket offenders resulting in fines up to $465. Report non-compliance to Beach Patrol (843-518-2880).
