Staff Report for The Island Connection
The Town of Kiawah Island announced the launch of its new video series Wild About. Hosted by Town Biologists, each episode of the series will explore an element of nature, wildlife or the environment that are vital components to the ecosystem.
From the wooded uplands to the beaches, audiences can expect to see episodes on deer, bobcats, loggerhead sea turtles and other wildlife highlighted in the series. The Town’s Environmental Department consists of two full-time wildlife biologists Jim Jordan and Aaron Given whose research is the basis of the video series. The first episode Wild About Marsh Sparrows was released on Feb. 28.
Wild About will air the last week of each month through the end of 2018 via the Town of Kiawah YouTube channel and social media outlets.
The series will also be cataloged on our website at KiawahIsland. org/wildlife/wild-video-series.
If you have a topic suggestion for the series, you may send suggestions to Stephanie at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Town of Kiawah is committed to manage, promote, and maintain the Island’s natural resources through research, monitoring, management and public education.
