This Tuesday, April 19, treat yourself to a fiery, classical journey through the European countryside, courtesy of the Island Side Concert Series.
Since their first premiere in November 2010, the Island Side Concert Series’ performers continue to expand their artistic horizons through either intense training in school or their wide array of involvement on stage or in concert throughout Charleston. These four young women all have a passion for the art of music and a love for sharing their music with the community. This performance will take each listener on a musical voyage across the Atlantic Ocean, highlighting classic music from Spain, Italy, and France. The concert will also spotlight on cellist Courtney Sharp, who not only will complete her Performing Artist Certificate through the College of Charleston this May, but has also placed among the top six in this year’s MTNA National music competition in Chicago, Illinois. Other performers include pianist/vocalist Laura Ball, pianist Jessica Minahan, and soprano Jennifer Morlan. “A European Journey” is a FREE concert event held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Johns Island on Tuesday, April 19 at 7pm. (3871 Betsy Kerrison Pkwy).
