In celebration of Spring and Easter weekend, Freshfields Village will host an array of events for the whole family from Friday, April 14 to Sunday, April 16.
The events kick off Friday evening with a special spring edition of Music on the Green. Local, four- piece band Port Authority will perform on the Village Green from 6 to 9 p.m.
Guests can expect tunes ranging from oldies to beach music to Motown classics and top 40 hits. This event is free and open to the public, and guests are encouraged to bring blankets or beach chairs to relax on the Green during the performance. Beer and wine will be available for purchase from FortyEight – A Wine Bar at the event.
On Saturday, Freshfields Village will hold its annual Spring Festival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with activities for kids and adults alike. Children will enjoy a jump castle, inflatable slide, bungeetrampoline, face- painting, balloon animals, spring crafts and a show with interactive performer, John Cusatis. Local food vendors will sell treats such as sno-cones, kettle corn, popsicles and more. Families will have a chance to take a photo with the Easter Bunny during the festival, so don’t forget your camera.
In addition, the St. John’s Fire Department will host their annual “Spring Into Safety” event during the festival on Saturday, with tours of the fire engine, fire extinguisher training, escape planning, safety tips and a visit from Sparky the Fire Dog at the Village. Meanwhile, parents can browse artwork from members of the Kiawah and Seabrook Artist Guilds on display or enjoy a glass of wine or beer from FortyEight – A Wine Bar.
The weekend’s events will conclude on Sunday with a casual, non-denominational Easter service on the Village Green at 9:30 a.m. Chairs or blankets are recommended for those attending.
