Golden Bear Realty will host an artist reception and exhibit of the work of Colleen Parker of Kiawah Island on Wednesday, Nov. 1 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. All local residents and friends are invited! This is the real estate office’s second event in their Local Art Initiative series which benefits the campaign to build the MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital. As members of the island communities, Golden Bear supports both local artists and their primary charities. All artwork will be for sale by the artist and 25% of all sales will be donated to the cause.
Colleen Parker is a representational oil painter with a special interest in plein air painting. She has studied with many well known contemporary artists including Mark Horton, Chris Groves, Larry Moore, Laurie Meyer, Dee Beard Dean and Shannon Smith.
She took up painting in 2008 prior to her retirement as a physician. She and her husband Scott are residents of Kiawah Island, SC. Please visit her website at colleenparkerart.com
