Freshfields Village will welcome the start of spring on Saturday, March 19, at the Spring Kickoff Festival. From noon until 4 p.m., guests can take part in a variety of nature-based activities, check out marine vendors, and enjoy live music and interactive activities for the whole family.
Kiawah Island Golf Resort Nature Program will also host a reptile show and cast net contest for kids of all ages, and guests can take part in paddleboard demos, fishing clinics and kayaking tours. Children will love the rock climbing wall, jump castle, inflatable soccer game and facepainter. If you enjoy hitting the waterways, Barrier Island Marine, Hanckel Marine, Longshore Boats and Sea Ray of Charleston will have their new products for 2011 on display. Sea Tow of Charleston, South Carolina DNR and the U.S. Coast Guard will also have booths filled with information and activities.
Bring your appetite, because food and beverage vendors will be available, and the Chris Crosby Group will be performing music on the Village Green throughout the afternoon.
Don’t feel like leaving at the end of the day? Resort Quest and Freshfields have partnered to create a Spring Fling Package which includes discounted lodging at numerous Kiawah vacation homes and villas (up to 25% off, valid March 17-20) and a discount card for more than a dozen Freshfields retailers. The first ten packages sold will also get a $50 gift card to use at any Freshfields retailer. To book, call 800-632-9208 and mention the promo code “FRSH,” or enter the code in the “notes” section when booking online at www.resortquestkiawah.com.
Proceeds from the Spring Kickoff will benefit Dragon Boat Charleston, a local non-profit promoting physical and mental wellness among cancer survivors and their community through dragon boating.
