Charleston County Parks invites runners and walkers of all experience levels to the 7th annual Mullet Haul Trail Run. The race features a 5K, 10K and a 10K relay on the trails of Mullet Hall Equestrian Center at Johns Island County Park.
All three races begin at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 22. Afterward, awards will be presented for the top runners, and all participants will be invited to enjoy food and cold beverages. This year’s race will also feature a free kids’ relay race component for ages 3-10.
“Mullet Haul is always a good time, and Johns Island County park is the perfect backdrop for a race with wide open spaces and an expansive trail system,” said Allison Foster, fitness and wellness program manager for Charleston County Parks. “Most make a day of it choosing to stick around and enjoy the venue.”
Traditionally open for horse owners, trail riding and equestrian events, Mullet Hall Equestrian Center at Johns Island County Park is located at 2662 Mullet Hall Road (off of River Road) on Johns Island. In addition to its equestrian center and newly-opened archery range, the scenic park offers pristine scenery featuring miles of trails winding through southern pines and moss-draped oaks, alongside open meadows and farm fields.
