By Monique Boissier-Sporn for The Island Connection
The Seabrook Island Artists Guild is proud to present a special exhibit of pastel paintings by Brenda Tilson, juried member of the Pastel Society of America.
The series of pastels, illustrating animal life in America’s farms, will be displayed through the month of July at the Seabrook Island Lake House gallery.
“From the four-legged souls that live on them. We come to you via our portraits because we believe that is the only way to greet you. Where we live, “in the country”, it is just rural America. However, our life is rich. We have room to roam, fresh air to breathe and plenty to eat. We share our bounty with you in many ways, from cream in your coffee and butter on your toasts to wool to keep you warm.”
A longtime SIAG active member and exhibitor, Brenda holds degrees from the University of Cincinnati College of Design, Architecture and Art, and Fairmont State College in Art Education. She is also a member of the Piedmont Pastel Society, in Charlotte, North Carolina.
