PGA Of America, Kiawah Island Golf Resort Partner With Sea Island Habitat For Humanity For PGA Championship Build

The PGA of America and Kiawah Island Golf Resort, in support of affordable housing, announced a partnership with Sea Island Habitat for Humanity to build and complete a home prior to the 2012 PGA Championship. The PGA Championship Build will begin June 23 and is located at 1108 Obadiah Court Johns Island, SC 29455.

Many volunteers are needed to complete this major undertaking. The PGA of America and Kiawah Island Golf Resort are looking for able-bodied, community minded individuals who would like to help. Volunteers will receive a complimentary ticket to the PGA Championship Tuesday Practice Round and a PGA Championship logoed t-shirt. Work shifts are available most days from 8 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., and 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Those interested in participating in the PGA Championship Build should visit www.pga2012.com (click on Event, click on Habitat for Humanity), or call (843) 768-6003.

We are very pleased to partner with Kiawah Island Golf Resort and SIHFH to construct a solid home for a local resident.”

Sea Island Habitat has recently become one of 163 affiliates nationwide selected to participate in Habitat for Humanity International’s initial phase of its Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative. This new initiative will supplement Sea Island’s ongoing efforts to improve the quality of life by providing newly constructed , safe, affordable housing in their service area.
