2018 Kiawah Island Election Candidates

The Kiawah Island Municipal Election will take place Tuesday, Dec. 4. This election marks the sixteenth administration of the Town of Kiawah Island, which was incorporated on September 13, 1988. The terms of this administration will expire December 2020. On the ballot there is one position for Mayor and four positions for Councilmembers. The candidate roster is as follows:

Incumbent Craig Weaver is running against Fran Wermuth for the position of Mayor.

Maryanne Connelly, Dan Prickett and Klaus Said are running alongside incumbent councilmember Christopher Widuch for positions as town councilmembers.

There will be a public opportunity to meet the candidates on Tuesday evening, Nov. 13 from 6–8p.m. at the Sandcastle. This event is hosted by the Kiawah Island Community Association and will allow attendees to hear directly from Town Council and Mayoral candidates on important Town of Kiawah Island issues. Wine and hors-d’oeuvres will be served. Questions for candidates are being solicited from the community and may be submitted at the meeting or in advance.
